Grocery Rx Associate Internship Apply Now
Lowcountry Street Grocery (LSG) is a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to providing a more equitable, local food system. Under the wings of LSG, Community Supported Grocery (CSG) & GroceryRx maintain a collective mission to sustainably and radically address systemic barriers to healthy food access, food insecurity, and local food proliferation through inclusion and community. CSG aims to connect small farmers and producers to neighbors all across the Charleston area, with a particular focus on local food equity and convenience via home delivery. All LSG retail and programming employs a “Robin Hood” pricing strategy that leverages revenue from high demand sales to directly address high community needs. We envision a community that naturally supports both small local producers and neighbors in need. As we grow our team, we seek individuals that believe in our mission and are invested in helping to make that vision a reality.
GroceryRx is our way of employing our inventory and knowledge to clinical settings to help combat diet-related illness, aka produce prescription. Following a structured nutrition class, participants are given weekly produce vouchers or grocery CSG grocery deliveries. GroceryRx can include demos, recipes, and clinical guidance for special diet needs. Our mission is to support and increase food access, food justice, and food equity for the greater Charleston area through mobility, empowerment, education, and community.
